Energy Storage

Energy Storage Systems (ESS) provide a multitude of advantages to both renewable and fossil fuel generation systems. Energy storage can turn Solar PV and Wind generation into a dispatchable power source. Power quality, reduced generation costs, peak shaving, and frequency control are also provided with energy storage systems.

Battery Storage

With continuing battery technology innovations and price reductions, battery technology is becoming a dominant design choice for many commercial, industrial, and utility applications. Battery technologies are selected based upon the application, budget, and generating system. Capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, roundtrip efficiency, lifespan, and load profiles are all considerations in selecting the appropriate solution. Deep-Cycle lead acid, lithium ion, sodium-sulphur, and flow batteries each have their advantages and disadvantages in energy storage. Tropitech has working relationships with large manufacturers such as Tesla Energy, EOS Energy Storage, and Aquion Energy.

Every Megapack system includes a Tesla Site Controller,

The site-level interface that controls the entire BESS while on or off grid.
